We are open 9AM-4PM daily with Chair 6 (see below for additional lifts and terrain beginning December 14), serving one run rated for intermediate and higher level skiers and riders, about one mile in length, covering nearly 1,000 vertical feet, with a few terrain features along the run. Surface conditions are machine groomed packed powder. We're expecting sunny skies with temps in the low 40s today; Highway 168 is open and clear with no controls.
We have our 400' moving carpet open in the base area for our beginning and first time skiers and riders, plus beginner terrain features. We will offer all of our ski & ride school programs for all levels, adults and kids.
With excellent snowmaking this week, we are now projecting the opening of Chairs 1 (Upper Dynamite) and 2 (Kaiser) on Saturday, December 14, along with the Buckhorn food & beverage facility.
All facilities are open in the Day Lodge, as well as ski and board rentals, China Peaks Sports, cafeteria and Jack's Place. We will open Buckhorn, our on mountain food & beverage facility this coming weekend.
Lift ticket prices today and tomorrow are reduced to reflect the limited operation: All Lift - adult $25, junior/senior $20, child $10. Rentals - adult (13+) $25, child $20. Moving Carpet Ticket - $15. Learn to Ski/Ride Package (13+) $50.
Beginning Saturday, December 14, when we expect to opens Chairs 1 & 2 to the top of the mountain, ticket prices will be $50 for adults; $40 for juniors & seniors; $19 for children 6-12; 5 & under are always free with a paying adult. All packages, ski & ride school programs will be at regular rates. Ski & board rentals for adults will be $30, children $20.
Bring us a new coat or toy and ski for free today and tomorrow! In support of Coats for Kids and Toys for Tots in Fresno this holiday season, China Peak is providing a free lift ticket December 12-13, 2013 for donations of new coats or toys (toys must be in original packaging). One lift ticket will be issued to each person bringing a new coat(s) or toy(s) per day. Lift tickets are valid only for the period December 12-13, 2013; coats and toys must be brought to China Peak Mountain Resort on December 12-13 only.
The Inn at China Peak will open tomorrow night, December 13 for the winter. Stay December 13-19 at the Inn on our Stay and Ski Free package (subject to availability).
